COVID-19 sparked the largest mobilization in Wisconsin National Guard history. Service Members stepped up to face extraordinary challenges—conducting community testing, distributing vaccines, supporting mortuary affairs, civil unrest response, polling stations and so much more. We’re sharing the untold stories of the men and women who served behind the scenes during a time of crisis and uncertainty.

Nancy is 87 years young and has spent most of her life in a quiet South Dakota town. She thought she didn’t have much of a story to tell—but she was wrong. We’re honored to be working with Nancy to share her remarkable journey, filled with courage, resilience, and heart. This book not only captures the milestones of her life, but also preserves the wisdom she wants to pass down—especially to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the generations still to come.

Often the unseen warriors, military children quietly carry the weight of service alongside their parents. In a world shaped by political uncertainty and constant media noise, these young voices show incredible strength and resilience. This project is dedicated to giving military children the space to share their stories—their joys, their fears, their hopes, and their unique challenges. Because they, too, serve our country in powerful and often unrecognized ways.
